On the outside, Michelangelo—the acclaimed painter of the Sistine Chapel and master sculptor of the Pietà and the David—was a world-renowned artist, perhaps the greatest of all time. On the inside, however, he was a lonely man wrestling with a growing sense of shame and doubting what he believed.
“Michelangelo: Chiseled by Grace,” scheduled for October 26th in Naperville, reveals the untold story of a haunted man’s journey into spiritual freedom. Rooted in the titanic events and characters of the Italian Reformation, this dramatic monologue will help you discover Michelangelo anew—maybe for the first time.
Chris Castaldo, PhD, brings to the role a lifetime of study of the Italian Reformation, first-hand visits to the cities where Michelangelo lived and worked, and a discerning, compassionate heart for all who struggle with questions of religious identity.
Chris is the author of seven books and is the lead pastor of New Covenant Church in Naperville, where this event will be held. Chris and his wife, Angela, have five children.
