God’s Word
Thank God for Pastor Daniel and his message on Sunday from Isaiah 40:25-31. Let us learn to wait for God and take our weakness to him.
God’s Word
Pray for Doug O'Donnell as he prepares and prays over this week’s message, from the Book of Job.
Our Church
Pray for Pastor Chris to be refreshed during his summer sabbatical. May he accomplish all that God has for him during this time.
Our Church
Pray for Bob and Diane as they continue their battle with cancer.
Our Church
Praise God for our women who are continuing to meet in fellowship and Bible study this summer.
Our Church
Prayer in the Parlor: During the four Sundays in July, the elders are hosting a pre-service prayer meeting for our church, our community, and the world, from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. All are welcome to join in this focused time of intercession.
Sunday Morning’s Pastoral Prayer: Part 1
Our prayer will be guided by Psalm 77.
In that psalm, the writer cries out to God in honest despair, writing:
“Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable?
Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all time?
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?"
Prayer: Part 2
Please join me in prayer as we hear how the psalmist answered his own cries of despair…
I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Your way, O God, is holy.
What god is great like our God?
You are the God who works wonders;
you have made known your might among the peoples.
You with your arm redeemed your people,
the children of Jacob and Joseph.
Psalm 77:11-15
Prayer: Part 3
We come to you today acknowledging your greatness, your holiness, and your majesty. We need you, Lord. The challenges seem great: from conflicts and wars around the world, for ongoing challenges of poverty and injustice. In our own country we see great divisions on topics like immigration, sexuality, and much more.
Prayer: Part 4
We pray that you would bring revival and repentance to our land, starting with your body, the universal church, and our local church. With that mindset, we come to you corporately to ask for your forgiveness and confess our sins in this time of silence...
Prayer: Part 5
We thank you for your promise of forgiveness, that as far as the east is from the west, so far do you remove our transgressions from us. (Ps. 103:12)
Prayer: Part 6
We bring our requests to you with anticipation that you hear our prayers and answer in your perfect will.
We pray for our missionaries, Paul & Mary and their son.
Thanks for Paul’s recent trip to Sri Lanka and the valuable time he had working with local pastors.
We pray for Paul and Mary as they work together to train church leaders in Mary’s home country. We thank you for the technology that allows them to do that remotely and pray for protection of those leaders that they minister with boldness.
We pray for their family during this summer season, for times of refreshment and renewal.
We pray that the joy of the Lord would be their strength and they would not work out of their own strength.
Prayer: Part 7
I thank you for the opportunity we have to welcome new members this morning. I pray that we would be faithful as a church in loving these new members and that they in turn would find areas of service at NCC based on their unique gifting.
Prayer: Part 8
We pray for the needs of our church members. We pray for those struggling with sickness and other physical needs, for those with hurting marriages, for our prodigal children, those with mental health challenges and more. We pray that you would meet those needs and we as a church would be the hands and feet of Christ in caring for others.
Prayer: Part 9
Finally, I pray for Pastor Daniel as he preaches today from a beautiful and familiar text from Isaiah, that he would be guided by your Holy Spirit. Give us ears to hear, hearts to accept, and feet to be active in obedience, based on how you would teach each of us today.
Prayer: Part 10
I pray all this in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, Amen.
