Talking with Roman Catholics about the Gospel

Free Event: Talking with Roman Catholics about the Gospel
Naperville is home to neighbors from many religious traditions, including a large number of Roman Catholics. Many Protestants, however, have had little firsthand experience with Catholic belief and practice, which can make spiritual conversations feel awkward or confusing.

To help bridge that gap, starting at 10 AM on Saturday, August 29, New Covenant Church is hosting a free, six-week class titled “Talking with Roman Catholics about the Gospel,” led by Dr. Chris Castaldo. Chris, NCC’s Lead Pastor, is author of the book Talking with Catholics about the Gospel and many other works. He has spent decades building warm, respectful relationships across Christian traditions, and he brings clarity, historical insight, and pastoral wisdom to this important topic.

Over six weeks, we’ll explore six key questions that shape how Catholics and Protestants understand the Christian faith:
• Where do we encounter the saving power of Christ? • What is the source of Christian authority? • How are we saved? • What is our calling as Christians today? • How do we grow in Christ? • What does faithful gospel witness look like?

This class is free and open to the public. Whether you’re a committed Christian, a curious neighbor, or someone simply interested in better understanding the religious landscape of our community, you are warmly invited.

Adult Sunday School

Discover the Greatest Life You'll Ever Live
New Testament scholar William Barclay once said, “Jesus promised his disciples three things—that they would be completely fearless, absurdly happy, and in constant trouble.”

Do you hunger for this kind of courage, joy, and upsetting of the apple carts? Then bring your Bible and join us for Adult Sunday School starting on September 13 for a fresh, nine-week encounter with the breathtaking Book of Philippians.

Under the theme Discover the Greatest Life You’ll Ever Live: A Journey Through Philippians, we'll see how Jesus and the gospel can thoroughly transform every part of our lives, no matter what happens.

Are you ready to take hold of the greatest life you'll ever live?

The Longing Heart

In a fragmented culture haunted by high-tech distraction and the self-made exile of individualism, our hearts often feel like empty theaters of longing. We starve for God’s loving presence.

Yet we often shrink back. Awe fades. Self-reliance grows. And instead of pursuing the living God, we shape puny idols that mirror our own fleeting desires—the god of-my-success, the god of-my-comfort, the god of-my-independence.

But Scripture reveals a merciful Father who graciously exposes our false gods to reclaim our hearts. These moments of divine encounter highlight God’s intense love for us and our calling to be a company of prodigal lovers who carry His love to others.

This is the focus of our next preaching series, The Longing Heart. Join us!

Sunday Mornings, 10:30 AM.

Small Groups

The threefold vision of New Covenant Church is to see "Christ Preached, Love Extended, and Lives Transformed." While the Sunday morning worship service is integral to this vision, we believe you will thrive in one of our small groups.
