Guest Preacher David Sunday

Please join us at 10:30 a.m. for a time of teaching, worship, and fellowship. Guest preacher David Sunday will be continuing our Advent Series, "Longing for the Light: An Advent Journey."

Week 2 – The Light Enters the World (Luke 1:26–38)
The Spirit overshadows Mary, and the Light of creation takes on flesh. God's presence, once veiled in the tabernacle, now dwells humbly within human history. Our longing deepens as the Light draws near.

Longing for the Light: An Advent Journey

This Advent, join us as we explore Christ's coming—the Light of the World—through four movements:

Week 1 – Christ the Light of Creation (Colossians 1:15–20)
We begin by remembering Christ as the radiant Creator, the image of the invisible God through whom all things were made. In a world darkened by sin, we long for the restoration of that primal Light.

Week 2 – The Light Enters the World (Luke 1:26–38)
The Spirit overshadows Mary, and the Light of creation takes on flesh. God's presence, once veiled in the tabernacle, now dwells humbly within human history. Our longing deepens as the Light draws near.

Week 3 – The Light That Remakes All Things (Revelation 21:1–5)
We look ahead to the New Jerusalem, where Christ the Lamb illuminates a world made new. No sun or moon is needed—His glory fills everything. Our longing stretches toward the day when darkness is banished forever.

Week 4 – The Sunrise From on High (Luke 1:67–79)
Zechariah announces the dawn: the Sunrise visits us from on high, shining on those in darkness and guiding our feet into peace. Creation, incarnation, and new creation converge as the Light rises as our Redeemer.

Lessons and Carols

Join us on December 21 at 3:00 PM. Lessons & Carols is a service of Christian worship. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books, and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choir music. We look forward to sharing this special time with you and your loved ones.

Let's gather together in worship and song, rejoicing in the miracle of Christ's birth.

Youth Sunday School

A fundamental question woven through the book of Samuel is who is the real king of Israel. After the failures of Eli's and Samuel's sons, the people ask for a king, which God interprets as a rejection of his kingship. Saul fails in large part because of his lack of obedience to God, the true king. David has a mixed record but succeeds, if you will, to the degree that he trusts in God. But even he is not the true king of Israel.

Ages 6th grade through High School - 9:00 AM in the Parlor.

Adult Sunday School: In Search of the True King

Beginning September 7th.

Small Groups

The threefold vision of New Covenant Church is to see "Christ Preached, Love Extended, and Lives Transformed." While the Sunday morning worship service is integral to this vision, we believe you will thrive in one of our small groups.
