Seeing Everyone, Everywhere, All the Time: How Our Devices Incite Envy, with Dr. Dillon Thornton

(Author, Deathly (De)Vices: Our Ever-Present Portals to Seven Ancient Sins, and Lead Pastor, Faith Community Church in Seminole, Florida)

Dillon will awaken our imaginations to the de-formative power of our phones and social media, with a particular focus on how they stoke unhealthy envy in our hearts. Dillon’s insights will be powerfully relevant, both for the curious and the convinced. His book will be available for purchase, but admission is free and without obligation.

Youth Sunday School

A fundamental question woven through the book of Samuel is who is the real king of Israel. After the failures of Eli's and Samuel's sons, the people ask for a king, which God interprets as a rejection of his kingship. Saul fails in large part because of his lack of obedience to God, the true king. David has a mixed record but succeeds, if you will, to the degree that he trusts in God. But even he is not the true king of Israel.

Ages 6th grade through High School - 9:00 AM in the Parlor.

After Service Fellowship

Join us after the service for a fresh brewed cup of coffee, a treat . . . or two, and a time to relax, discuss the service, and fellowship with friends - old and new.
