An Invitation From Douglas Yeo

Did you know that our own Douglas Yeo is a world-class trombonist who teaches at Wheaton College? Doug cordially invites you to come see him solo with the Wheaton Municipal Band this Thursday, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Wheaton Memorial Park Bandshell. Doug will be playing Richard Lieb’s Concertino Basso, and an unaccompanied encore, America The Beautiful, arranged his his friend, Stephen Bulla, former chief arranger of the U.S. Marine Band.

Doug was a member of the Wheaton Municipal Band in the summers of 1974 and 1975. He and Pat were married in 1975 while students at Wheaton College. Doug was bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony/Boston Pops from 1985 to 2012. The Yeos retired to Arizona, where Doug became Professor of Trombone at Arizona State University (2012-2016). They moved to Carol Stream in 2018 to live nearer to their grandchildren, who live in Wheaton. Doug was appointed Wheaton College’s trombone professor in 2019.

Band concerts are free. Come early and bring your own chairs, as seating is limited. For more information, go to www.wheatonmunicipalband.org.
