What should I expect when I visit New Covenant?

Worship Service: 10:30 - 11:30

Reverence, awe, joy, and adoration—these are words which characterize our Sunday morning gathering. As we gather as God’s people around His Word—to hear from Him and to speak, pray, and sing unto Him—we do so with reverence and awe for who God is and also great joy and adoration for what God has done for us through Jesus Christ.

A service of the Word from beginning to end, the hour we spend together is shaped by the Bible. Led by acoustical instruments (usually piano, strings, and flute) and sometimes a choir, we sing songs and hymns which use Scripture language and theology. We recite creeds which are either directly from Scripture or are classic summaries of Christian theology (learn more about our beliefs). We pray prayers which are saturated by the words and concerns of Scripture. And finally, we listen to Scripture read and taught. The sermon explains, illumines, and applies the text which we publicly read. Once a month, we also break bread, remembering and reenacting the drama of our redemption.

Throughout the service, we have classes for our infants and toddlers. We also offer, if desired, a program for 4 year olds to 3rd graders—Wonders of Worship (WOW). Before the sermon, children are dismissed to learn about the person of God and how He is to be worshipped.
